I recently added a new site and Googlebot has been there a few times before the update and again yesterday
But not in the index yet is there a different time new sites get added or will I have to wait until the next update to get in?
Thanks

It depends firstly on 1) whether you submitted it to Google to be crawled 2) whether you've got good incoming links..

The site needs to be crawled before the next update for it to be indexed.. The crawling needs to happen several weeks before the update as well. If you have a few decent incoming links, you should find yourself indexed next update :-) Keep checking Google to see if the freshbot picks up on you during the month as it usually will show your site for a day or so in there just after it's crawled it.

Thanks daamsie

I did not submit it to Google I just did the linking thing I was crawled on the 24th Dec. I found a Cash snapshot from Google a few days ago not there now?
Google crawled me again yesterday but not in the index yet?

The freshbot drops by regularly (depending on your incoming links) and you will see your pages briefly appear in the results usually a couple of days after it has dropped by.

It should be indexed next update permanently (at least for that month). Until then, you'll just have to wait.

I find that if you're constantly adding content and have good incoming links, you can still generate some considerable traffic during the waiting time.. This is also good to test your keywords, because you can change it and get a fairly quick idea of whether your changes worked or not.
