No Backlinks in Google for 2 months

Ok I am new to all this but several months ago I checked my backlink and I had one which was my backlink to dmoz.

Then someone told me that I needed more backlinks to get a higher pagerank which I did, but in the meantime for the last 2 months or so I have had 0 backlinks to show up in google. I still have my link in dmoz and it does not show up. I still have a page rank of 4 with no backlinks showing.. I kept thinking in this last update they would come back but they have not.

Can someone please explain what is going on. I have searched this forum and see others have had the problem in the past but no one has given an answer to why or how?

Any suggestions?

Take a look at your backlinks elsewhere, like at Alexa.com and other SE's. Google only shows high Page Rank backlinks and is giving you the impression there are less. Your DMOZ link may be a low Page Rank, hence the reason it dissapeared.
