My new site seems to have gotten just 3 pages indexed.
I state 'seems' because I'm using the google dance website to check.
The pages that were indexed were my services overview page, my general contact page, and my site map page.
When I type in my domain without the .com part I see two pages that are indexed. When I use mydomain.com I see just the site map page indexed.
Google does not yet show any of my inbound links.
I'm trying to figure out under what keywords google put the page(s) and what the ranking is.
I did use the Google Monitor program to see if my site would show up under any of my keyword phrases and even out to 100 pages it was not found.
So, I am glad a couple pages are indexed, but wonder what keyphrase the pages are under.
I'm also curious why Google decided to index those 2 or 3 pages of my whole site?
Also, all of my pages still have the grey bar..and 0 page rank- including the couple indexed. I don't get that.
It seems like my site got indexed, but in no meaningful way.
Perhaps next month things will "smooth out" for me and I just need patience.
PS- URL is in profile.

Looks like you already know the answer.
The best advice i can give is:
1, Carry on getting "Quality" backlinks from other sites, NOT just PR7 etc, but lots of links from Quality sites, traffic alone sometimes is worth a lot MORE than High PR.
2, Read, Read and Re-Read webmasterworld, especially the Google forum, most questions which you will have, have been answered 100s of times.
hope that helps, and happy new year

Very difficult as I'm a web designer...it's far easier to optimize for clients than for myself! :(
Probably the 2nd toughest category to get ranked well in after "Search Engine Optimization". :)

Yeah- this is an excellent forum!
BTW, every single page of my website got indexed and cached as www2 shows. Has not made it into main google database yet though.

Yeah- and it's nice to see every single page was indexed and cached...just hasn't made it over to regular DB yet. Will be fun to see it listed even if I'm #345,084 out of 4,000,000 :)

Ah. Good to know. Is this fact or a guess? Just curious.
In that case quite a few won't count. In scanning my logs I noticed links from Universities from students linking to my site as a reference. Hmm..not sure what if any PR they had.
The other links I have are 5's- maybe a 6 on one. The one site I can get a link from a PR8 page costs $100. :(
I just noticed my link from a large "yellowpages' website has a PR of 0.
Oh, well. Life goes on...
Thanks for the reply...I learned something new.
