"'Hello,' said Arthur, 'something appears to be happening.'" -- THHGTTG

Fresh results, genuinely crawled Dec. 30 as far as I can tell.

Looks like my new site didn't get crawled on Dec. 30, as I'm back to my non-fresh ranking. :(

However, at least it's _something_! C'mon, GG, push it, push it!

Oops, now they're gone again. Looks like it's jumping back and forth to a new set of results.

Oh, BTW, I'm _not_ skipping the party tonight to hang around and watch the dance, it's just that the best party in my area is at the hotel where I work, so I get the best of both worlds. ;)

The freshbot came through my site yesterday for the first time since the 26th, (other than an imagebot on the 27th), but it seems to be concentrating on pages it had from the last update or soon afterwards. No freshtags showing from the 30th though yet. I wouldn't worry too much bubbleman... it might just be persnickety because we're about to get indexed, then deep crawled. Happy New Year and good luck everyone.

Yes, my fresh tags have just come back too (30th). And a lot of non-indexed pages that have been away for something like a week. What's going on?

Interesting indeed...and lots more image bot appearances throughout the sites... as well as freshbot frequently today. Kinda makes you wonder?

Just checked again and I have tags showing from Dec 30.

(Noticed I became a Junior Member... thanks Webmasterworld, nice New Years present. Excellent site, thanks.)

Google has done some typographic backsliding in recents weeks, I believe. I remember a thread here when Google began to recognize a variety of character entities such as "curly quotes" and mid-dots. I was very pleased to see this improvement - a sign of real quality on Google's part. I went through and added better typography to many of my page titles afterward, and I think they were all properly displayed, but now right and left angle quotes (the >> and << often used in French and German) no longer display correctly in the Google SERPs, nor do "low-nines" quotation marks.

I think these were all displaying correctly before, but perhaps they hadn't been included when that first round of typographic improvement took place. If they weren't, I hope Google will consider adding them to the next display revision (they look better than the "?" that now are shown, and represent a vote of support for internationalization).
