Looks to me like the deep crawl comes right about dance time. Thus, if you miss that you may not get in for 2 months except for if the freshbot finds you.

Yes. Googlebot needs to crawl your site early in the month to be included in the update.

As long as you get deep crawled sometime during the month you are OK. Usually this would be in the first half of the month.

I've found it to be a 2-3 month lag unless you have a command in presence, I won't go further into that, as others here already have. Yet remember, Google giveth and Google taketh away. You might find it appear for a short while, then vanish site unseen for a number of weeks, then reappear. Just be patient. Be patient, and lastly...be patient. Actually it is not so bad once you've paid your dues in waiting. Good luck to you. It's worth the wait.

If a new site has a link to it from an older site which is regularly crawled by Google, then when Google crawls the older site it will find the link and become aware of the new site. It is then highly likely that Google will crawl the new site during the same month.

But you will never get crawled without an incoming link for Googlebot to follow.

My advice is don't be patient. You might wait for ever! :)

Make sure you have incoming links that Google can follow. The higher PR the better. If you don't get crawled by the end of the month after your site is launched, then it's likely something is wrong.

Also, the Google deep crawl is almost perpetual. Over time (it tends not to drift that dramatically month to month) I have been crawled as late as the 11th for results included in the same month end update and as early as the 19th. of the previous month and this is probably not even the maximum range.
