ok...im using a 301 to point mydomain.com at mydomain.co.uk...im soooooooo paranoid that google will treat .com as a duplicate site!..but everyone seems to think this is the best way to handle multiple domain names...mydomain.com is sitting with a blank index page and its .htaccess file....should the meta tag be an index or a no-index?...and what should the robots txt be?...index or no index?....plese help cause im soooooooo nervous....

You don't need to include index/not index with the meta file. And you don't need to put any robot.txt. Just do a 301 redirect with your .htaccess and googlebot will know what you mean.
