GoogleBot requesting images with blank user agent

Has anyone else seen the Googlebot (not Googlebot-image) requesting image files with a blank user agent?

This might be a stupid question... but how do you know its the googlebot if it doesnt have a User-Agent? Or do you mean the requests are coming from one an ip controlled by google or used by their bots?
