A competitor who is a mega spammer (multi mirror sites, hidden links and goodness knows what else)ranks highly on google.com but most of his main and mirror sites now seem to have (mercifully) disappeared from google.co.uk - apart from a recent mirror site that he has thought up which apes our own.
Can anyone shed any light on why this might be?
Obviously, I would love him to disappear from google.com as well, as this would be his just reward.

Most non *.uk domains are filtered from Google's UK search, IMO due to IP geolocation (some UK ISPs don't appear in the "pages from the UK" search, most do).

Alternatively, you may be seeing a difference because you are connecting to different Google datacentres when you go to google.com and google.co.uk

Maybe a particular site has been banned (but the change hasn't fully propagated yet), or maybe you are just seeing Fresh listings in some datacentres but not others.

Basically, we just need to be used to Google varying through the month, and even at the same time across datacentres. If you search the site [searchengineworld.com] for 'google dance' you'll find a wealth of information on the topic.

Thanks for that ciml,
I am learning things on webmaster world that I never knew existed. Google dance?! Datacentres? Geolocation?
I need a drink.
I have been consistently at the top of the uk rankings and he has been at the top of the com rankings. It just seems strange that his .co.uk spamsites aren't showing in google.co.uk where I get most of my hits.
Thanks again.
