Google index question

Question on index with Google and phpbb

Hi All,

I have been indexed by Google 1 week ago and got all pages of my phpbb forum indexed (just started, so only about 50 pages). They have been updated a few times. Since a few a days, Google only lists my index-file and there isn't any trace of all other pages.

Does anyone have the same problem? Or (even better) does anyone have a solution?

I have installed a robots.txt file, but that did not seem to be a problem the first time and I have also also installed a session id killer by Showscout & R. U. Serious (not the multiple sessions killer).

Thanks for your help!

Chris

Chris, obviously Google has no problems indexing your PHP pages - as you say they have already been in.

What happens is this: Google detects your site, runs over it, includes it for the first time. Then most or all of it drops out of the index again, until it reappears with the next regular update.

There's lots of info on this, you might want to see the library [webmasterworld.com]. Also useful:

Thanks Heini,

I will definitely spend some time reading the knowledgebase and library. For now my pages have reappeared, that is a relief :-).

Regards,

Chris
