*lurker sneaks out of the shadows*

Hi everybody,

I've noticed a few other people have mentioned this kind of problem but I've never found anyones answers explain my problem.

I've got a PR5 site and it is in the Google directory. But in that category it is right at the bottom with no green bar showing next to it. It has been this way for several months.

Does anyone know why this might be? Has my site been black listed somehow in the directory?

Could this have something to do with the fact that ODP have not updated their export for a long time?

Many thanks!
Kieran

Kieran,

Welcome to the dark side :) , you finally made the jump, no going back now!

If you sticky me the url, I will be glad to take a look, although there are better informed gurus than me.

Shak suggested that it might have something to do with the fact that my category in Dmoz has moved recently.

Is it possible that Google only updates the PR on their directory pages when they get a new update from Dmoz?

If so, I suppose the fact that Dmoz is having trouble and has not been updating means that it could have been a little glitch that gave me a PR0 as a one off, but because they never updated again, it has stayed that way.

Very frustrating :(

Anyone heard any recent news on when Dmoz will be sending out a new dump?

Thanks
K

I had the same problem, you have not been penalized or banned. It is just a matter of Google and the DMOZ updating their directories. I had the no green bar for 2 months then last dance I got it, dont worry. You are just going to have to wait.
