Google's omitted search results

How can they be included?

I've noticed rankings for my web site disappearing since the 'big' change a couple of months ago at Google. The problem I find is that pages that were ranking well for specific terms are now not ranking at all but other pages from the site that link to the term related page(s) is ranking, all be it in the 60s.

I checked the allinurl to be sure the pages were being indexed and they were, but when I did this I got the "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 2 already displayed." text.

I believe this is hindering other pages from ranking well - it seems Google is effectively not putting these omitted pages up in the SERPs. This is consequently knocking my rankings and traffic severly.

Does anyone know how to get the omitted pages included as standard into Google SERPs.

Cant be sure, but perhaps the omitted pages were too similar to those that were inlcuded?

Thanks JOAT - many pages use a similar template design but have unique copy and images with uniques Titles and Descriptions so I'd like to think they weren't too similar.

Any other thoughts, has anyone else had this experience?
