Hello,

Let's say I sell blue widgets. But people sometimes enter blue WIDETS into the search engine.

If Google isn't using the meta tag, how can I capture traffic for this misspelling without using the same misspelling on my own site and looking like a fool to those who did type it right?

Right now, I have set up Google Adwords, but I would still like to be indexed for the keyword.

Thanks!

Tropical Island, that's exactly what we do also - the CTR is really great for mispellings! However, we'll build a "funny mispelling glossary" now to catch the referer by ourserlf and save the money we spend on adwords (sorry GoogleGuy ... we'll put the many back to g for other keywords, ok?!). Building enough funny mispelled content really isn't a big deal. Hmmm ... it's no longer our secret now ... ;)

Funny you should meantion it! Over 80% of my hits (in #1 position) are from a typo of one word. The other 20% come from the CORRECT spelling which we hold the 14th place..

I love it! :P

Since you've let the cat out, explain further.

> how did you get listed so fast?

My new pages are commonly in Google now within three days via Freshbot and/or the new page submission form.

I also added a mispeeelling once I saw this thread, the same mispellinggg that another site registered as a domain. Now their are exactly two entries in Google for the mispppelling, me and them... and I'm first.
