500 error when google came a-crawling

I made a mistake with a couple of pages in a sub-directory in my site, so that the pages generated a 500 error for googlebot (a big oversight on my part).

Will this cause me problems with the indexing of the other successfully spidered pages in my site? I have now removed the offending sub-directory and the link to it.

I was really pleased to see googlebot doing such a deep-crawl as I moved server/ip address only a few days ago.

I don't see a problem for higher level pages, but URLs linked from the 500 error pages will not get the PageRank they would have had the parent returned 200. URLs linked only from the 500 pages may disappear for an update.

I hope so - I actually just removed the directory as it was only a demo that was never used and I had totally forgotten about it until I saw googlebot munching through 500 errors in my logs.
