Drowning in Keywords

Too many keywords in the last update

I know this might sound strange but last month I had less keywords on Google, and my readership was was up, page views very high. Then after the November, update Google mixed so many keywords together that really don't belong together, and now I get mega-page hits but virtually no one stays on the site. The keyword combinations dont make sense or reflect the site as well as when I was indexed with less keywords.

I'm sure the reason so many more keywords were included was that I added double the pages on my navigation bar, double the number of pages on my second tier. I wanted more keyword coverage and now that I 've got it I'm CRYING.

I'm going to take half my pages off my navigation bar, hope that Google forgets these bizarre combinations, and if that doesnt work I'll separate my site into two different sites.

I want my readership back! (It's a poetry site)

Be sure you use your title tag to clearly indicate what people will find when they click through to your site. It's the only part of your listing you have control over. That way people interested in what your site has to offer will be more likely to click through, and people looking for other stuff won't bother.
