Im thinking of using overture adwords, and Google PPC.

This may sound a daft question, but if i get lots of hits from these ads, will it help boost my site up in the normal search ranking?

Eg, if i run adwords for 6months, and then end it, would i see my site rise in the search results?

thanks

I could give you the quick answer, but this url will get right to the point:

[google.com...]

Read the first fact.

Does Overture boost your rank? I wouldn't count on it.

Andrew, if you sell tangible products, I think PPC can improve your rankings. My reasoning is that certain shopping comparison engines indexed on Google also carry PPC affiliate results. I know of one site that will permanently redirect (301) the affiliate link to your web site. From my understanding, a 301 redirect will trickle down the PageRank to your web site as well.
