I've noticed my website moving up the Google search results for the past few months. I've been working really hard on some backwards links to it and have everything legitimately pointing to it that makes sense, plus in directories, other top engines, etc. etc.
The PR has been a 6 for two months now, without change.

Now I go to Google and type in the keyword phrase for my site and all of the other keyword phrases for the site and it is nowhere to be found. It's like they banned it within the last few hours or something.

Nothing weird in my log files or indication of anything weird from my IP or DNS caching. Any ideas or suggestions?

NOTES: All the backwards links are from differently owned sites, IP's, owners. etc., plus I've made it a personal point not to link to any site that it considered a "link farm"

Thanks for the help! :( saddened... <sniff, sniff>

Pros do get reported from time to time.
Sorry it happened to you this month. :(

What do you mean exactly? Why would I have gotten reported? I have all legitimate links. None of the websites that might point back to me are mine and are all owned by different people/webmasters and/or companies.

I have a very strong feeling that someone has reported me or done something to get my site in trouble.

What could they have done. I'm in a very competitive market of thousands of sites and I just so happened to get #1 this month.
Any IP spoofing or spamming google with my site would do this wouldn't it?

Please help, anyone?

If you're no longer in the index, your toolbar will be gray. Is that the case? If so...hard to say. If your site is clean, odds are Google hiccuped and you got dropped for a month. Is Ms. Googlebot crawling your site in the last day or two?

Thanks again for the reply. I haven't noticed anything from Google in my logs.

How exactly does Ms. Googlebot look in the logs? ...Just to be sure.
And what would the significance of Ms. Googlebot crawling my site have to do with the site now receiving a grey bar?

Thanks for the help

Here's a handy list of Googlebot identities:

Got a graybar, huh? If Google is back crawling your site, it's good news, expect to be back in the index with the next update. Keep an eye on your logs. Good luck.
