Hi Everybody,

My site experienced the 2nd google update and is ranked 22nd for our most desired keyword. The pr also rose to 6 from 4. I am finally feeling a little bit satisfied.

During the initial phase of the creation of my site, it was my dream to optimize web sites and get them well ranked for even the most competitive keywords with "100%" ethical and honest SEO methodologies.
My site is an example of my success. I am not proud of the fact that the site got a satisfactory rank, but i am proud as i used 100% ethical methods for optimization.

Now I have gotten into a situation unintentionally about which i am unsure whether I can be into trouble or not. Let me explain a bit.

I submitted my site into a site that maintains a directory for SEO links. As this was not a reciprocal link exchange, my site do not have a hyperlink that links to that site. I was aware that the site had dynamic urls.

The problem is with the multiple urls the site is generating. When I check my backward links from the google toolbar, I find several dynamic urls of that site linking to my site. If i count the total number of pages from that site linking to my site it will exceed 90. The total number of urls linking to my site may be nearly 290 (approx) out of which 90 is from that site. I would not have worried if those were real static links linking to different pages of my site.

I am worried that the search engine spiders should not count it as an attempt to artificially try to increase the number of inbound links to my site. Is there nothing to worry as I am not linking back to that site?

Or there still lies a risk and i should email them to remove the link to my site. Please advise. My url is in my profile, please visit the site and click on the "backwards links" button on the google toolbar and you will know of the situation i am trying to explain.

You have a backwards links button on your google bar? How? I just searched google tool options and could not find any mention of it..

Confused

There is a Page Info button, click on that, 4 option will come - "Cached Snapshot", "Similar Pages" , "Backward links" and "Translate into English".

I presume its the links you find under the "omitted results".

At a guess, since these pages linking to you are seen as different pages by google....the pagerank of each is pretty watered down so instead of one big link youre getting the PR of numerous smaller links.

There shoule be no way that you are "penalised" for this........maybe you are losing out on some PR because of the way the links are being indexed but I wouldn't worry about it.

Not with the "omitted results". Just visit the homepage of my site and click on the "page info" button and click on the "backward links" option.
You will link from that site, even before the site itself.
