Likely final. Not unusual for a new site the first month in. Hopefully, you already have some inbound links from page with decent Pagerank.

Nothing is over yet. The update always lasts several days. Wait until things settle down. Also note that it often takes a couple of months for the everflux situation to settle down which means your site may be in and out of the index for a month or more.

True. However, it *isn't* PR that really counts. Given a choice between my site's home page having a PR5 and being #1 on the SERPs for my main keywords, and having a PR7 and being buried below position 30 in the SERPs on all the keywords that count, I'll take the former. Getting decent PR often is easy. I've seen a number of personal sites with a PR of 5. Asking a friend or relative with such a site a link as a favor is all it might take to get to PR4.

The homepage of my largest site has briefly touched that elusive PR7 today. This has happened before but never stuck. I did a screen print of the page with the PR on it and saved it to a jpg. This way I can at least remember it was there once. :)

I was at PR7 as well, but I didn't have Anne's foresight! Still, I've moved up to the first page of results and that seems to be holding steady.
