I just did an allinurl on my site and found a website that is listed in Google as www.somesite.net/pro/nph-pro.pl/010110A/http/www.mydomain.com/

I emailed the site, rhymes with freakreaction and Google.

I also mentioned this forum and GG so I hope Google doesn't pick up on it and show dupe content!

Why would someone do this if not to try and ruin a site?

There is no obvious benefit in this for them!

Ann, if you do a search on Google for nph-pro.pl you will find spme 31,000 pages listed. Follow the tracks and you end up at CGIProxy [jmarshall.com] which is the script used. It allow people to surf pages anonymously via their server. So someone has visited your site vis his script and somehow Google has indexed the whole string.

As there are so many listings in the database like this, I would not worry too much. Your email will bring this to Google's attention, be interesting to see what happens.

Thanks woz,

I just did a backflip on that and found the cgi script...still trying to figure out how google managed to index something that was just being surfed with....seems their claims for anominty (spelling), is not true. :)

We will wait and see....

Oh well, my "surfer" got a quick remove it letter from me...hehehe
