Hello,
I had been getting very useful advice on my new site from this board. Thanks to all who helped!

Google crawls my site everyday and have the pages which have been added to my site even a couple of days ago.

My site is new and has not faced the 2nd google update yet.
I had prepared it quite well for the november update. I gained many(nearly 50 in the past 30-35 days) links to my site, the content was already rich but added more and am still adding more to it.
A couple of weeks back I found it to be in the 62nd position in Google for my target keywords, today suddenly it fell to the 528th position.

I was waiting to see it to rise in position, instead it got down!

Is this normal for a new site? Will it comeup in the next update or very soon? Or Google really felt that it deserves to be in 528th position (but i am very confident of the quality content of my site)?

My url is in my profile, any advice will be appreciated.

asomani,

As beachboy posted in response to your similar question yesterday [webmasterworld.com], your site is experiencing the result of Google's freshbot [searchengineworld.com]. If your site was deep-crawled at the beginning of November, then you should appear in a "stable" position in Google after the next big update.

It is normal for new sites to pop in and out of the search results, until the site's pages (and all pages which link to them) have been deep-crawled, and a calculated - rather than estimated - page rank has been assigned to the pages.

You are in a very competitive category. It will be a challenge to rank well, perhaps more challenging than in any other category. Major factors that will make a difference are hard work, patience, perseverance, and a certain professional emotional detachment. It is no good to be successful and die of a heart attack!

Hang in there - you should know within approximately 10 days.

Jim

P.S. read an interesting article on your site last week from a link in an on-line magazine. I recognized it immediately when I saw it again.

Thanks a lot.

I am feeling better reading your lines. I think the next google update is the answer, thanks again for the assurance and advice.

You are right, i was a bit emotionally moved when i saw the down position of my site.
