You may study hard and you may work hard but whatever you do, you must respect those who have the most respect.

If you cheat you will win for a week and be cheated yourself. With respect comes a friend forever.

Google is, without doubt, one of the best and most respectful search engines of all time. To become No'1 in Google takes hard work, alot of time and above all respect.

Anyone who wants to be first in Google like me and many others here, will only make it by doing it right.

Respecting google and their system is the only answer.

They too want your site to be first, only if your site is respectful and contains what is written on the lable.

I have spent so much time watching others, all trying methods like myself and asking what is the Google secret.

Their secret is respect if you hadn't noticed.

I am sure anyone will agree that when it comes to web marketing, PR ranking and other so called ranking methods that creating a great site with great content and respect for those who read it (Google) will be rewarded in the end.

My advice is

Work hard (design etc.)
Build hard (real content, links)
Be respectful (no cheating, no spamming etc)

and after a small wait, respect will come (From Google)

I do not at all disagree with you, but I'd prefer to put it in another way:

Respect your visitors. Try to understand their needs and their dificulties. Then they will respect you and reward you. So will other webmasters. And so will Google. And so must other search engines do if they want to survive.
