OK, lets say we do a search on "keyword1 keyword2 keyword3" and our site is at number 3. If we get searches on these keywords and browser clicks the link within google is this in any way collated by google and used in ranking?

Recently Google apears to have been counting clicks on the serps so this may be something that is going to happen in the future. Currently I dont think it will effect your positioning at all.
