does anyone else notice this?

It seems that i'm visited nightly by the googlebot and I can almost time my clock by it. It's always wonderful to see those visits. Simple question. Is this a coincidence that I see the bot the same time each night (and on top of that she's very hungry).

My own statistics program does not give me possibility of such accurate observations. But it would seem rather surprising if Google showed such obvious patterns. My impression is that they always try to let webmasters be a little bit in doubt as to the right tactics.

I have seen the same visiting patterns from freshbot over at least the last two months... usually a different IP, but always within 30 minutes of the same time every morning. When it goes quiet, its normally a nice indication of the index about to start!

Yup. I don't know exactly what time she stops in for breakfast, but I get up around 6am and check my overnight referals and the hits from the freshbot usually appear sometime not much earlier than that.

I'd imagine that there are only certain hours during the day when the bot is active. In the same way that there's time between the deep crawl and the main update, there has to be some time between the fresh crawl and the injection so as to rank everything.

Coos,
You say Googlebot is 'VERY HUNGRY'
Are you then experiencing the same phenomenon as me.
Early in the month I get a few hits (say, 25% of all possible hits), then this rises daily until now, just before, the Dance Googlebot goes crazy. My lttle site in question has now recorded hits 4 times the total number of html files, jpeg's and gifs.
Apart from observing that this is the Everflux noone so far has said what is going on except to infer freshbot is updating different indexes.
Is this what's going on? Can we please have a technical explanation from a top Google-watcher please.
Thanks
Henley
