Could this be the warm-up to the update?

I dont think so,
Upto 5 hours ago most of the sites had the 18 Nov date, and the dates has been disapearing slowly as usually happen to prepare a minty fresh for 2morrow.

Hello Go-Madrid!

I think the same as you! I noticed in october Google did not included the fresh sites some days before the GoogleUpdate.

If you search for (eg) CNN, there is no today cache, and during these last two weeks there were one different cache every day.

You're right: The warmup before the dance.

Shoot, I hoped to be freshened up once more before the dance. I just made a change in my title and I've checked for that new date several times today.

Will the latest fresh spidering or the earlier montly spidering be the one that is cached and indexed the following month?

I had the Fresh crawl complete sites, and thousands of pages yesterday, so i think we will see another FRESH before the update, also they don't always show the date next to the sites, even though they are fresh.

CNN surely always has to be freshed, and yet their cached page is from Nov 17th. This to me means the index hasn't been freshed for a few days. Maybe the fresh bot still crawls even though its results are not actually used.

Still seeing fresh results...I just got a few new pages in the index overnight from pages crawled on 20th Nov, (which is nice...)

So did - and are - mine. At least _some_ of them. This week I have been very busy rebuilding a site on a new domain. Old articles have been revised and uploaded. New articles have been written and uploaded. Pages that were already uploaded have had their content revised and have been seo'ed. And now I'm gaining my reward: Quite a few pages have fresh 21st _and_ cache. Nice ratings too.

My site shows a 21st date in the fresh tag but the cache has my site's home page from the 17th. Is this normal? Site was first deep crawled Sept 10th if that matters, first time cache was from sept 30th. Many deep crawls since. Other pages show Nov 02 and Oct 30th. Shouldn't they all get minty fresh?

Yep, I'm seeing this too - minty fresh date of 21st November, cache of 6th October!

Oh, okay change that - now showing cache from 21st November

Fresh 23rd tags on many pages. But the caches are not updated. Mainly from the 18th.

I have a site that was doing fine -- getting spidered every day -- cache always fresh.

But now there's no cache date and when I click on the cached version it's my page from October. Any ideas on what would cause this?

When I looked at my logs, I saw that I have been getting spidered every day and the GoogleBot has been visiting me every day -- no skipped days -- but Saturday was about 1/2 the volume that he regularly consumes.

Any advice would be *greatly* appreciated.

Thanks!

dont worry in a few days you will have your dates next ro the URL again
The cache have to be from oct as you dont have the date next to the url.
the fresh date come and go out.

Have refresh for Nov 25.

Minty doesn't hit the same pages/topics each and every day.

Lots of fresh 25th tags including pages that had not been indexed for several days or not at all.

Same old story: Nice number of fresh 26th tags, but rather outdated caches.

There seem to be 2 caches. There's the minty fresh cache which you get when clicking on the "Cached" link next to a URL tagged as fresh and then there's the cache you get once you're on the page itself and use the toolbar feature "Cached snapshot of page". The toolbar cache seems to show the page when it was deep crawled for the last update (October 11th in most cases, even when looking at CNN)

Now here's another wierd cache effect:

My site shows a 26-Nov-02 date in WWW but in dir.google it's 02-Oct-02

When is a cache the cache? How many are there?
