I've seen discussion about linking inside a class C subnet, but not found anything very definitive about single ip hosting.
My concern is that I have my own dedicated server, and when I take on new projects, I obviously host them on my own box... Now, even though I have several ips, some are hosting several sites.. and I naturally have multiple links between them. Does google consider this spam and will I get penalised (or worse yet, will my PR be slightly lower all round, even though most of the content is genuine)? I have quite a few hosted domains now, and some are barely more than links pages (15 at the most) because they are still under construction.
Another thing is that some of the sites/projects are run by other people. If they do something naughty and get penalised, will this affect the other sites on the same ip, or affect the PR of the linked sites to and from it?
If google could clarify, I would appreciate it.
PS. Is there any way whatsoever to find out if you are indeed being "marked down" or blacklisted.. or do you just find out when your site disappears? :(
