Cached pages are old?

Did anyone else also noticed this?

I have a SEO news section on the frontpage of my site. I have to update it nearly everyday for this reason. As each news has got the date attacched with it, I can always tell when my page was last updated in the Google index.

Currently the cached version of my homepage in the Google index is nearly 20 days old, where as previously it was updated once is every 48 hrs (approx).(BTW Googlebot is spidering my site everyday.)

Is the late updation a bad news for my site's rank in the next google update. please help me out with the possibilities.

Is this happening to other sites also?

i have a site that was spidered on saturday and all the new pages were added to google and were found using the relevent search terms. I was very pleased and so was my client.

this morning googlebot visited my site and now the cached pages in google are about 20 days old or more and all the new pages have dissappered from the index. not sure what the reason is but sounds similar to your situation.

Very odd!

another of my sites has been given a pr rating of 0 for no reason as nothing has changed.

i think google is running some tests but all the sites will still be indexed in the next update.

I was studing the everflux last night and It was a bigger then normal everflux.

Some of my content shown was over 5 months old. Some of my websites show the new freshbot results of 12 Nov 2002 but my main site still has the old content.

I have a PR 5 on one site which shows the old content and my other site PR 4 was updated but went through a period of erratic movements it changed to PR 3 then PR 2 and back to PR 4.

My main site had been crawled by the googlebot12 on Tuesday early morning but by the nighttime when the everflux started it showed no fresh results unlike everyone else!
Feeling very left out :(

Looks like our nearves will be tested every two days instead of once a month.

If every thing runs smoothly I am sure everyone will agree that Google has left yet again every other search engine (further) behind.

Seems to me Altavista are trying their hardest to catch up but making their hole bigger!

this is not what i wanted to hear.

i was going into a prospective client this morning to offer optimisation services. i was going to use this site to show how good i was but it was lucky for me i checked before i went or i could have looked a smudge on the stupid side when i typed in a search request and the site i was hoping would appear isnt even listed.?

is everflux a word that fills the gap " I havent got a clue whats going on" Rather than saying it?

these eractic results dont help me sleep.

Once your website is well established and has maintained a good position for some time your listing should not be so erratic.

I had the same problem so enthusiastic to show the world my success and suddenly everything changes.

I have a strong position at the moment and when ever(more)frequent flux happens I now seem to be ok.

Google tends to put the tempory results in from two months ago to keep you listed whilst they have their parties.

My guess is good as anyones at the moment but I strongly believe they will.

Maybe tonight we may see some more movements, although I am first for my keywords they still need to refresh me, plus see the other topic in the group we all seem to have a big crawl happening.

During tests we never know!
