No, the site is not mine. Life is too short to play stupid games with hidden agendas. Take the question at face value... period. :)

I am genuinely interested in how this happens. It impacts on the perceived value of the results.

Incidently, the site is on-topic for the search. How it gets to #1 is what puzzles me.

I've seen Google do this kind of thing with server side redirects, but not with client side. Basically, if domain_2 is redirected to domain_1 Google seems to treat them as one domain for the purposes of link pop and PR, but is capable of listing either URL in the SERPs from month to month (but never both).
