When does PR update?

I see new inbound links appear and dissapear but one day in the last week or two I finally jumped from PR0 to PR3, nothing much changed from one day to the next, is it just that Google only recalculates the PRs at specific times and that changes in inbound links only affect PR infrequently? I had thought that once I could see that google had cached a new incoming link that my PR would be affected but I'm no longer sure that's true.

PR is recalculated with each monthly update, and is typically displayed toward the end of each update.

When do we know when this update is expected or did occur? Does anyone post this information?

The monthly update generally starts around the 22-28th of each month, varies a bit, lasts several days.

Where ya been? We've been waiting for you. Actually the October update took place last week of the month and the results are in place.

What we'll see now is what is referred to as Google Everflux, daily updates where sites may appear one day, and then disappear the next. Fresh Dates appearing one day and maybe not the next. Your PR is most likely due to the October update.

Oh, no more than probably around a couple hundred members. Just do a site search for Google Update (top left) and you'll have enough to read while we wait for the November update which historically happens at the end of each month with results becoming settled by the first week of the following month.

As pageoneresults mentionned, it is hard to tell exactly when this happend, since too many member go crazy one month before, and one month after, it actually happends. ;)
