Google acts strange or it is me?

About a few weeks ago I submited my site to google , dmoz , and yahoo.
I got registered in Dmoz and I am still registered there but today when I tried to search some of the words that have sent hits to my site ....kaboom.... no sign of my site ...nowere.

I even tried to search after the site name , keywords I knew that will bring my site in the search results ... still nothing .

Can someone bring some light? Point me to a link in the forum or something?

I'm going nuts :(

Likely too soon, and you won't be in until the November update.

But why? Because I got hits from google until a few days ago and I was also listed in the DMOZ.
And I could find my site by google until a few days ago....and now it is vanished...

Hi Jaxman, welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Google started a while ago to index new sites very fast, sometimes immediately. Those new sites then also often vanish from the index, BUT only to reappear with the following full update. At that point the new site will also have a proper page rank asigned and will be sorted in in the rankings.
So no reason to go mad, I suppose. Instead I'd recommend reading some great introductory stuff on Google...;)

You might take a look at the Google Knowledge Base [webmasterworld.com] for a start.

jaxman,

Why? Because you missed the beginning-of-October deep-crawl, and your pages are being picked up only by "minty the fresh 'bot". This makes your site suffer from everflux [webmasterworld.com]. If your site was deep-crawled at the beginning of this month, you'll show up consistently in next month's index.

Thank you for all your replies.

I did surfed trough FAQ's and read some posts but I posted just now because just now I needed some help :)

And I guess I did missed the October Crawl ... we will wait and see.
The googlw would not bring me so much buyers anyway because my page is in Danish but a few came also from Google.

Sorry for being rude and not saying ..HI .. ;)

Thank you all again and let's hope it is like you all say....missed the crawl.

Now is confusing......

Today I searched again for some key words and ...voila..my page gets listed.

Why? Why now and why not yesterday?

Now I really don't get it. :(

dont forget jaxman, you could be connecting to a myriad of servers all with slightly varied databases at any given time.
There isnt one big super google server that everyone connects to
