Google Highlight Tool

Does this only highlight content that the spider can see?

I always thought that if you could highlight the text using the toolbar then the spider could see it, but using the spider sim tool here it does not see text that can be highlighted.

Does this mean I've been getting this wrong?

Toolbar highlighting is done locally. The toolbar only fetches the PageRank from Google´s server (Rank_1:1:5).

To see what the spider saw you need to check the page in Google´s cache. Highlighting in the cache is done on Google´s server.

There is no page in the cache, i presume this is because of the use of flash and frames on the site.

You are using frames without a no frames element. That is why UAs that don´t know frames will display no text since there is none, only the reference to the frame pages. You need to check the individual frames.
