I think I understand this everflux thing but is it possible that my new site is the no. 1 listing for a particular keyword for the majority of the month because of the everflux effect and then after 6 days of the real indexing my site is gone all together for that keyword?

The site still appears on google if I do a search under the domain name though. Granted that I would rank lower after the real (month end) indexing because I have no external links to my site but I somehow got a no 2 listing in Yahoo! under the same keyword. Also currently what is listed in google under the keyword is junk or spammy stuff that is not really related to the keyword in question. At this late stage of the indexing process is there still hope?

Yes it sounds normal. New sites need a few months to be solidified in the serps. After the next update you should have something solid to work with.

If you have a real yahoo listing and not just a yahoogle return then you have an external link.
