Any value in Orphan sites?

Whats the impact if they all point to X.com?

Suppose I have 10 x 4 page sites, 5 brand new, 5 with PRO, standard nav linking internal to the 10 sites but sites themselves are NOT xlinked. Theres no inbound links to any of the 40 pages.

Each of the 40 pages links to 1 external site, X.com which has PR6. (& no recipricol linking)

Seeing as the link text pointing to x.com is perfect, what impact (if any?) will the 10 sites have on X.com SERPs?

Will X.com with a PR6 be harmed if 5 PRO sites link to it?

You're safest bet would be to get someone(dmoz, relavant directory,etc) to adopt those orphans. That's if they're being spidered currently...

How are you intending to get any inbounds from these pages if they're not outside linked now? I have 3 sites that suggest you don't rank very well if no one links to you...

Slade - I don't care if the orphan sites appear highly or not on SERPs. I'm only concerned with Y.com to which all the orphans link.

This main site has lots of inbound links via Y!, Dmoz etc
etc.

I'm trying to figure out the value of having highly optimised link text point to the main site.

Is there any or will I just have to try it......

None.

If they have no inbound links at all... they will not be indexed by Google and therefore their outbound links will not be indexed by Google.

No.

A PR0 that is due to a lack of PageRank can do no harm. Only a penalized site has that potential. Even if the sites were PR0 penalty recipients, their linking to another site would be no threat. (according to GoogleGuy)

Only by linking to a penalized site can you incur the wrath of the Google Gods.

One step up from not being indexed, or next to none.

You really can't "cheap" your way into making your primary site more important to a theme, topic, keyword or keyphrase by using multiple low quality sites.

A single referral (link) from an established "quality" site will beat all 10 x 4 pages x single inbound link to get indexed sites plus another 100 sites just like them.

It is far better to ask others to link to you, (pay them if need be) than to waste time on what you proposed, unless you seriously develop unique complementing content for each site, and much more than 4 pages each so that many more links are possible at each.

This is where the benefit come into play, but not from just 1 or 2 links (unless a PR 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 page is linking to it).
