Say I'm building a new page. The keyphrases I wanna target are "k1 k2" and "k2 k3". Now, it seems logical to me that I should name the page with the title "k1k2k3" in order to target both keywords. However, few people would search for keyphrase "k1k2k3".
My question is - is it better to do what I described above, or is it better to use but one keyphrase (e.g. k1 k2) for title in order to avoid getting a poor ranking for both "k1 k2" and "k2 k3". What about incoming links text?
Thanks,Dan
I personally don't have an answer per se but my understanding is that K1K2 is better for that specific search than K1K2K3 would be as K2K3 is better for that particular search than K1K2K3 is. But since you really want to do well with the one page, I suppose you really don't have any choice.
If you were able to make two pages out of the subject, you'd probably do better on each search separately. Your two pages would have titles "K1K2" and "K2K3" but obviously each page would have a lower PR than a single page linked from your home page would.
So the bottom line is it is always a balancing act.

I think, at least with this update that title is very important. At least for my pages.
Thanks

I would suggest a homepage for k2 which links to a page about how it relates to k1 and a apage about how it relates to k3 and if possible a page about all three of them together. Each page would have a title that corresponds to incoming link text and page content.
