Placement of recips?

Does the placement of your recip links make a difference on how deep Googlebot will go through your site? I have a site that previously had many of it's internal pages indexed. The links to those pages were at the bottom of my page. At the top of the page, I had several recips. Is googlebot following the recips and not continuing on to index the rest of my site? Kind of like an exit door...

No, Googlebot won't see the external link and decide to take off in that direction. He might add that to a database of URLs to be checked later.

There could be PR implications, of course, depending on the number of links on the page, etc., but you needn't worry about distracting GB. If your pages are REALLY large (100K+), the links at the bottom might not get picked up, however.
