If modified since - What about pages beyond the 304

Will googlebot index changes on pages if the only page linking to them has not been modified and the server returns the 304 response code?

As far as I know yes.

If the only page linking to you is from 1995 and has never changed - you should still get updated once a month.

I should clarify.
64.68 seems to be stopping when it gets the 304 even if there are pages on the other side which may then be technically orphaned as far as fresh content goes.
I would assume the deep crawler will disregard the 304 and index everything. Thats obviously whats taking her so long to get here (I hope). I hope the exact same thing is happening to the site with my shiny new pr 7 link (not there yet). As soon as thats indexed I'll print the screenshot with the toolbar and hang it on the wall next to my first dollar bill earned.(if that ever happens too) :)
