Will I be penalized for redirects to my forum?

I'm using Snitz and coverting thread to static html.

I replied to an old post here:

[webmasterworld.com...]

..with the exact details, but I realize it's more of a Google question.

I can covert my dynamic forum threads to static .html files with redirects in them which link back to the original dynamic thread in the forum.

I use a 7 second delay...

Will Google penalize for this? Will it index these static files?

Is there a better method?

Thanks,

Frank

Google will index ikonboard by itself. Why convert it?

Brett,

Thanks for taking a look at the thread..

Personally, I'm not using Ikonboard - but Snitz rather. It is ASP based and uses a MS Access 2000 db. I think the person who started that thread was using Ikonboard, however.

I'm just wondering about the redirects and the method I'm using. Will Google index it? Penalty or not?

Thanks!

I've been using ikonboard on my site for about 6 months now, but it has never been indexed by google.

Really wish it would get indexed, alot of things are discussed there that could be valuable to searchers.

Am i doing something wrong? Do i need to turn something on in the admin options or something?

Brett, or anyone know?

Thanks

Well, as you know Google has been deep crawling for the last few days. It picked all my main pages (about 14 in all) but avoided my 400+ forum topics converted to htm files.

Until today. In the last two hours, Googlebot has visited twice - each time picking up 5 different forum topics. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which ones it's taking. It doesn't seem to be working in order down my list of urls to these files...

They all have that redirect I was telling you about. Hopefully they'll show up in the next update. It'll be interesting to see how many of the 400 pages the bot decides to take.
