Google and ODP

Why doesn't Google pick up a new ODP link?

A couple of sites that got indexed by the Open Directory in September have just been updated but the links from DMOZ aren't showing? In fact, one of them isn't showing any links (even though it has some).

Why is this?

There are several steps at work:

1) Editor adds a site to the ODP database
2) The ODP generates an RDF file containing all the links and categories within the database, weekly
3) The licensee (e.g. Google) downloads and parses the RDF file, and publishes their version of ODP data

Unfortunately, as noted in [webmasterworld.com...] and that whole thread, #2 has failed on the last several attempts. Even when everything is working close to 100%, it takes a number of weeks for Google to update, so it is commonly a month or so "behind" the data on dmoz.org . Now, Google can't update its data until ODP gets a new RDF generated.

Also unfortunately, there is not really anything that Google, ODP editors, or submitters can do to fix the process, so we must wait :(.

Could this be the very incident that will have google banish the ODP data?
People give out about the microsoft programming ... but it seems that good old Netscape (who runs the ODP right?) ain't all that good either!

Last month my site was added to the Google Directory but it is at the bottom of the list with no page rank bar. My site has been in the Google index with a page rank of 7 for months. I thought the page rank in the Directoy might appear during this month's update but so far nothing. Can any of you help?

First time posting! So far I've learned tons from this forum. Thanks!
