Does google avoid non-standard file extensions?

I target a niche market which has some complex but ubiquitous technical requirements. To help facilitate development, my tech team has developed our own server side programming language. We also developed an apache module for it and designated a file extension not taken by any other coding language.

I see a few signs indicating google may not like what we have done but before we change our settings I'd like to confirm my theory. Would google avoid a file extension called 'recl' for example?

This is pretty much on topic and at least an unimpeachable source.

We try to crawl anything, but if you post specific extensions I'd be happy to check it out and see if we can make sure we crawl those too.
