Hi,

...because of the mouspad, and the not yet conducted update, I checked my historical records and found out, that around the 18. October 2002 there were some changes in PR. My URL and competitors also jumps up and down (all day long) and remain on a different PR than the September dance had shown. Up to today the results of the 18.10.02 still show up.

Did anybody see similar changes?

Nope. I haven't seen any changes like that - it was probably what we call the 'everflux'.

Hope that helps. :)

He He

Everflux is the SEO substitute for doctors blaming a virus, or priests saying God moves in mysterious ways.

It just means we can't explain it.

I am intrigued, silvia. Mid month changes to PageRank have been suggested occasionally, but like Jeremy I haven't seen any changes like that. If you have any more clues please let us know.

I am intrigued too. How can you check from your logs if your pagerank changed?

thank you for greeting,

……try to expain what I did..

at first I used “google dance tool” for fun some few times a day/week, and around the 16 /17/18 Oct. the results start jumping between the 4 displayed google pages.

I also use the “google monitor 1.0 beta 1” before and after update, or inbetween, to have records of the development of my URL.

By entering the related keywords into the “monitor tool”
for the most of the keywords I got different results for the a.m. dates.

(about 20 search terms – e.g. “blumen frankfurt” or “blumen dekoration” or “blumen service” etc.)
(blumen = flowers)

I know that is no professionell operation but
it was not a dream I have it “black on white”

so far

Ok, I follow now.

I haven't used that particular tool you were referring to, but I guess you are assuming that because the results are moving up and down there is a change in Pagerank.

This isn't necessarily so, as there are obviously many factors affecting your position. It could be that your competitors made chages to their pages or added new pages which were picked up and indexed mid-month. It could also be that Google removed some new-ish pages from its index. This also can happen with newly indexed pages mid-month.

I noticed recently a lot of dynamically produced pages appearing mid-month too, which disappeared just as quickly.

To see changes in your pagerank you need the Google Toolbar. This only changes at the end of the monthly update.

Hope that's of some help.
