I think what you are describing is the 'Everflux' effect that many mistake as being the 'update'.
So for what it's worth, I recommend doing a site search for 'Everflux'. There is some great reading on those posts and threads.
The update should contain the lastest content google has spidered. If there are no major surprises you should get nearly your same spot back.
But, if i knew what was going to happen i would not be waiting and checking 6 times aday. Maybe google is getting ready and showing an older version was just a pre update condition, maybe it was nothing. Maybe google has a surprise and that is why they have not already updated, maybe not.
Welcome to the forums.
The only other unusual thing I noted in this new listing was that the text description on the search results seem to have been pulled from within a form that I have on the page. I had been told in the past that Google wouldnt go inside the form tags, but looking around I see that it did on the indexing of my page.
When I checked this a week ago the cached copy didnt even highlight the search term inside that form box but now its got the contents as the search results - weird
Thanks all again :)
