I have a page #1 in Google and the PR is greyed out.
What does this mean.
There is only 2 pages of results. Am I just the best of the worst.

Means Freshot picked you up or it's part of the forthcoming update shifts, you'll drop in a day or two. Enjoy it while it lasts ;)

It's probably everflux, Google adds pages like this for keywords that have few searches. It may rank but it may also stick and get a PR for the next update.

Yep, what they said. I have had some stick way high up with gray toolbar. I suspect many new sites and pages get a "newness" boost.

Thanks everybody!
I have another site that I just optimized and it is number #1 under about 3 keyword phrases it has a PR6
Do you think it is more likely to stick.
Is this all because of the update?

What I'd give for a PR6! Loads of PR5, not a single 6!

I've seen a few greyed sites today that make no sense - www.linux.org is a strong example - it's #2 for linux. I think Google's feeling a little odd today. Must be time for an update.

I dunno. One site in my relevant keyword set is number one and it's not even ranked by Google (out of 174,000 results) I'm at number two and it's been like that for TWO updates now. Very strange.... My pagerank is Five....
Just re-checked. It's now re-directing to another site.
