Something doesn't add-up, here.

I have one site about 6 months old that is listed in the Google Directory, Yahoo, AND DMOZ, but still has a gray bar.

I originally thought it had a duplicate page penalty, but that would apply to the individual pages, not the entire site, correct?

Does your site get crawled by Googlebot?

Yes, this particular site was crawled daily from 10/01-16, but not since.

Maybe it will get a pop in this next dance.

Do you mean 02 and not 01?

If you mean 02 I would wait until after the dance...things may change

In that case I would say that you do have some sort of penalty. I'm not too sure how these work in terms of getting them lifted, especially if Google doesn't crawl your site as it won't be able to tell if you are still breaking the rules or not. If you do a site search here for something for duplicate pages or google ban etc you might find some useful info...

edit<Oct 01 to Oct 16 THIS year? If so ignore the above, think I misread you!> edit

It gets better...

Site B (PR4) was running at #10 for its main keyword phrase until last update where I de-linked site B from site A. Now it is nowhere to be found in the serps.

But, the strange thing is, its PR4 never changed, whether it was at #10 or way down the list.(I got tired of looking at page 24 of the serps)

If you look at the threads after the last update a lot of people had the same experience. One of my sites fell off the radar completely from #15 due to the changes they made in the algo. Hoping it will come back again in this update.
