My PR dropped - Why

Hi

I need some expert opinions. I had a site with a PR4 up untill oct 8th, then on oct 9th I noticed the PR dropped to PR2. I did update the page on the 8th, and changed some outbound links - but those were just links to sponsors/affiliates.

What are some reasons or explanations why my PR would drop just like that?

If you think those links are bothering you then use js for your links.

What do you mean you noticed it on the 9th? Could the decline have happened sooner than that, like when the index was updated? Check your backlinks. Most likely some of them have shown a decline or are not counted anymore. Of course since you are a pr 2 most or all of those backlinks won't show up with the Google toolbar. If you know what they were before the last update then that would be the place to look.
