I heard somewhere that one item affecting PR is the site's programming. E.G., a site running PHP or Solaris will get PR points not awarded to a site running microsoft FP.
Does anybody have more info on this? Can anybody confirm this or deny it? I haven't found anyplace that mentions this.

There is no truth to that. Crawling the web is tough enough of a job already. Making ranking decisions based on server platforms just wouldn't be too smart of an idea.

What your source could have meant is that dynamic pages may not be listed/ranked whereas static pages would.

This is becoming less true, (especially with this update) and soon will be gone for good with Google. Others are and will follow when they get their programming up to spec.

Why would Google do this? The users of Google only care about content. Not about if it uses Solaris.

Yah, the operating system and page type don't matter.
