Is the September update Really Over?

Has the September Google update Finished?

Our website used to be one that delivered really screwy dynamic search results. So screwy, in fact, that Google had never been able to make heads of tails of those pages/results, and had never listed any of our dynamic content. We could see this plainly when we checked out our logs. We'd see Googlebot start on a static entry page, and then depart quickly after trying a couple dymanic links with no success.

However, in the early part of this month, we made some extensive programming changes to our site (moved a whole bunch of the dynamic processing server side), and as a result, believed the 'dynamic' content could now be found by Googlebot. We implemented the changes to our site on 9/15. And on 9/20, the GoogleBot came and conquered (or so it seemed). A check of our logs showed GB having major success. We saw it spidering thousands of new pages of previously unviewable content. And Mr. Bot has been continuing to spider our dynamic content pages on and off now since 9/20.

But here we are at the end of the month, and after reading as many posts as I could about the 'Dance', we are confused as to why these new pages which Googlebot was able to find didnt make it into Google's index. We're trying to find out if the Dance/Update is really/truly over for this month. We've checked the usual suspects (www2, www3, .co.uk, .de) and not a trace of our newly spidered pages on those domains either.

We've seen that our Pagerank is unaltered from the previous month, so no clues there. Are we jumping the gun? Is it possible that somehow, the Dance goes on, and possibly in the next few weeks, some of our pages will get indexed and appear in Google? Or is it more likely that (for reasons only the Shadow knows) we may have to wait until sometime around 10/26, for the next Dance to commence?

Any insights/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Well I can only speak for what has happend for myself, in the last 6 hours one of my sites index page has had an increase in its page rank, which has kept me happy for now!

This would seem to me that things still arent settled down just yet, and you still could see alot of shift around in the google index yet for the next few days.

Just keep checking :)

Yep dance seems to be over for this month, expect some heavy spidering by googlebot over the next few days, any changes to your site should be then ready for inclusion next update.

You just didn't get your changes done early enough last time.

ps welcome to Webmaster World

Going by the information above, You (should) be included in the next months dance/update.

what you are seeing is the everflux effect.

good luck

Well, I still see old(ish) results on Google.de, so I don't think it's complete yet. However, 1,2, and 3 look extremely stable now.

9/15 was well after the end of the last Google crawl - that's why you're not in this index. You got in with "fresh" crawls during the month - better than nothing. Your site should be included in the update after the next big crawl that should start any day now - i.e. at the end of October.

Be sure to read the Google FAQ:
