In this last update, my PR for one of my sites finally went up. It went from a PR3 to a PR5 due to inbound links. I thought this was good. But now when i do a search for a keyword that i use to monitor my position, i see that the page has dropped 3-4 pages on google. If page rank is supposed to be that important, then why would i have dropped down so low... i was happier with the lower page rank and higher position. Has anyone else experienced this, is there any reason for this?

Thanks.

If page rank is supposed to be that important

Nobody said it was that important. In fact quite a lot of threads around here deal with the fact that not page rank but good content is the most important ranking faktor. First of all your page has to be relevant for the search term in question.

bugsy2334, there's a lot of factors that go into ranking. A lot of webmasters make the mistake of getting obsessed with their PR, but that's only one part of things.
