I do a lot of posting in msn and yahoo support groups the pertain to the product that my business sells. Many times, I will give out my web address. I have noticed that with google, when you type my title into search, lots of these groups show up. Is this good or bad?

In general it rather helps than hurts.
Unfortunately, the Yahoo groups are not spiderable anymore, since they have started requiring cookies two or three months ago. Expect those links to drop from the index soon, if they haven't already.

Bird: I was looking at postings in Yahoo Groups earlier today. They all show a nice PR in the toolbar, but clicking on 'backlinks' shows none :(
