About this dance:
- I've put a new site online 11 sept 2002 (hope it's not bad luck ;-)
- Since then, it has been spider by Googlebot 3 times (always 1 level deep only - 41 pages)
- To my surprise, 41 pages have showed up in WWW the 20, 22, 23 of september and only those days. Got visitors of keywords searches from thoses pages. (From Google, Netscape and AOL)
- Today (Sep 26), only the homepage show up on WWW. But nothing on WWW2 and WWW3.
My question is:
Is is normal to have those 41 pages appeared this month for a few day and not even be in this monthn update? Do i have to wait for next month update?

Alright. Here's what happened. Google found your site in the middle of the month and since it was new, it gave it a "fresh" tag. (Search for "Google Fresh" on the search here at WebmasterWorld for more info on that). So, your pages appeared. Now, as the update goes on, it mixes up all of the databases. ww2 and ww3 are the pages it crawled back in the end of August through about the 8th (or so, I forget...) of September. You're pages won't appear in that database because it wasn't crawled then.
Now, as the dance calms down, it's possible that your site will start showing up again as those newer "fresh" pages get injected into the main database. What determines it? Well, no one (I don't think) is exactly sure, but if you have some decent sites linking to you, then it's quite possible that you'll be back in for the whole month. If you don't, you probably won't get into the main update, but it's still possible that you'll be in and out for the coming month if you get some links to you from some high ranking pages FAST. Those high ranking pages will keep the "freshbot" coming to you and you'll pop in and out.
