Hi all.. I have a relatively new site .. the homepage ranks a PR4 and should see a nice boost if all the links such as yahoo, dmoz and several others get picked up in this dance.. I am thinking they should since they have been out their for a month now.. since mid august or so...

My question is when i click on my homepage on the cached version, it shows the old site, I know this because i changed around somethings on august 30th. the cache is still showing the site as it was before august 30th.. I am a yahoo store so cant see if google has done a deep crawl on my site... ugh.

I am wondering if on the dance this is going to show our old site before august 30th. Another words.. if my cache is still showing the old site, is this what is going to show on the dance that is about to happen this week?

Could google of spidered and it wont show our new site until the dance? I am not sure what the connection between the cached site and the dance is...

Hi Helpmebe1,
I got a similar problem: the cached version of my homepage has been crawled on 08/01/2002 (I'm sure because I've put an active server pages function in the meta-desc which writes the date when the page is called ... so watching in the html source of the google-cache there's the date of the crawling). But I don't know exactly when this cached version appear. Now I'm watching at the new version after the dance, so I'll be able to estimate my refresh period.
If the trick can help ...

Pagano,
Interesting.. I didnt know their was such a script, I assume java? I have thought about putting a date stamp in the footers for two or three months till i see the pattern.. am a bit worried though why the cached version is still an old copy.. I hope during the dance the cache updates.. I did alot of updating and want to see it show.. I have a couple thousand page site so google should like it.. cmon google..where are ya?
