Howdy,

I've got a biggish site that is now (for several months) had its own domain. Almost all inbound links use this new name. However, in the past, I was using a free hosting service for the site with a very long URL (even I couldn't remember it) - so I had a couple of aliases (free short url's) pointing to it. Of course, when the site moved to the new domain I updated the aliases.

Ok, now I'd like to kill of the aliases (they no longer have a purpose). But I can tell from my logs that some people do use them. But when I try to search for who's using the aliases in google (link:alias) it returns all links to the current domain name. Any idea how to locate just those inbound links using the old aliases?

Try using AllTheWeb's advanced search feature. It usually returns many more back links than a link: search on Google.

hmm, just checking it out. I don't see anything similar to google's link: - am I missing something?

** Nevermind, figured it out! Thanks **
